Cosentino’s Food Stores started in 1948 in a small, neighborhood store by brothers Jim and Jerry Cosentino, and were later joined by their younger brother Dante along with sisters Mickey, Mary, and Joyce. Although they struggled at first, their overwhelming commitment to treating customers like royalty soon made Cosentino’s one of the most popular grocers in town. And while Jerry and Dante continue to provide leadership and counsel, our 2nd generation ownership team of Donnie, David, Victor, Jamie, Jimmy, and John ensure those original values of service to our customers remain strong.

In addition to our traditional grocery banners Price Chopper, Sunfresh, and Apple Markets, we take special pride in operating our three Cosentino’s Market Store formats. Our goal at the Markets is to offer most of the traditional products you see in grocery stores, but with an increased selection of specialty foods and strong emphasis on fresh prepared, ready-to-eat foods. You will find an ever-changing variety of the finest and freshest products available such as fresh-cut USDA Choice beef, fresh Atlantic whole salmon (cut fresh daily in our stores); seasonal fresh, local produce, and a selection of domestic and imported cheeses that rival many of the finest cheese shops anywhere.

OUR MISSION

It is the mission of Cosentino’s Food Stores to provide our customers the highest level of friendly, helpful and courteous service. We offer the highest quality and best variety of products available at competitive prices in an exceptionally clean environment.

SERVICE TO OUR COMMUNITY

Cosentino’s Food Stores is committed to serving the communities where we do business. Our stores focus on supporting groups whose primary mission is feeding the hungry, and we give regular donations to local food banks. Over the past 5 years, our stores donated more than $1 million worth of food to Harvesters Food Network and other local food pantries.

CHARITABLE DONATIONS

Our stores also support other partnerships with local nonprofit (501c3) organizations, with emphasis given to groups that support local children at need.

Requests for donations such as gift cards for fundraisers, food for community events and meetings, bottled water or fruit for walks and runs, as well participation in community events should be directed to the store managers.

When requesting a donation, please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  • Visit your nearby store in person at least two weeks before the date the donation is needed, and pick up our Giving Form to submit a formal request for donation.
  • Provide the store manager with the Giving Form along with the written request on the nonprofit organization’s letterhead, including a valid tax ID number and details regarding the request.
  • While our stores do their best to accommodate each group’s request, please understand that we receive many requests and may not be able to fulfill all of them.
