“As a board member of the Kansas City Downtowners, as well as being on our social committee, I was responsible for the “Spring Social” held recently at the downtown Kansas City Library. Because of my knowledge having lived downtown for many years of both Steve Husk’s and your former manager Mickey Speir’s high standards, I called your catering manager Ryan Babgy and requested a bid for approximately 200-300, within an hr I had my bids, this even though I had mentioned to Ryan that were I to get them within a day, that would be fine. As I went on through the coming weeks leading up to our event I came to learn that what I had seen in that first hour, was a indicative of both Ryan’s work ethic, but also to his exceptional ability to communicate – and further, to follow up and make things happen.

Our event ended up at a little less than 200 (still, a very nice crowd) and all of your staff, and every bit of the food was awesome. The display of food Ryan did for us was beautiful(I had someone come up to me this weekend at a Symphony event in the Flint Hills 120 miles away and make mention of this). I have virtually nothing to say as to how any of what Cosentino’s did for us that day could be improved upon.

I am taking time to tell you this today because there is, as all your managers(and former ones as well)will attest, a very unique dynamic for people that live and work downtown. Ryan possess abilities and a work ethic that frankly, I wish I saw everywhere, but this is not the case. It is a great set of skills that are extremely well suited to your downtown store’s environment, and as a direct result of me finding all of what have described- I have requested yet another bid.”

“My wife and I are compelled to write this note to express how deeply appreciative we are of the excellent catering services provided by Cosentino’s for our wedding on August 9th at The Simpson House in Kansas City, Missouri. We flew in from New York City (our home) and decided to try Cosentino’s as it was relatively close to where we were staying in the Downtown area. I’d also eaten from the cold bar at Cosentino’s in the past and thought that the spicy tuna was very tasty—that taste prompted me to explore the possibility of Cosentino’s catering our event.

We first met Courtney Holt during our tasting and she was very professional, took time to listen to our ideas, and offer suggestions based on our expressed needs. Courtney provided several delicious and freshly made samples that really helped to seal the deal and place Cosentino’s as our top catering choice. The experience was very pleasant and we also left feeling quite satiated. Having also worked in the food industry for several years, I’m somewhat of a foodie and know that texture, taste, and presentation are extremely important in this industry. Cosentino’s superseded my expectations in these domains.

Once we officially decided on using Cosentino’s, Ryan Bagby became our official contact person. He was always so pleasant and warm during all of our conversations and really took time to answer all of our questions (and we had several). Ryan assured us that he was going to take care of everything needed to make our reception elegant and pleasurable. He even asked me (Leon) what more could he do to help with the set up and even brought extra eating utensils, should we run out.

On the day of our wedding, the Cosentino’s team came early to assess the venue and set up. At the end they left the venue spotless. They kept beverage containers filled and really paid careful attention to details. They were prompt, courteous, and efficient. At the end, the manager (Ryan) wanted to speak with us personally to make sure that we were satisfied with their services. We were very satisfied! In short, the service and food were both excellent. “I am writing you today to let you know how much we appreciated Jonathan from your Gardner Store.  If you are not aware of what an outstanding employee you have already please let me share our experience!

Jonathan just catered my daughter’s wedding at Enright Gardens this past weekend.  I was actually given his name by the venue as a recommendation. (they do not like to recommend one over the other but expressed how impressed they were with him)

My daughter, her finance and myself met with Jonathan for a test tasting and so impressed at that time we didn’t even consider another place.

He was always quick to respond every time I contacted him, several times during the planning I spoke to him and text him to later find out he was off that day.

During the event he was great to work with!  I received several compliments on the food and the staff and I was quick to say it’s all from “Price Chopper in Gardner!”  People could not believe they did such a professional job and the food was fabulous!

I am on the “Event Committee” at work and we will be planning a Holiday meal.  I plan on contacting Jonathan again to cater for us!”
